Michael R. Veach is one of the foremost authorities on all things Bourbon. He is a recognized author whose articles are featured in numerous publications. Veach published the now-widely acclaimed book Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey: An American Heritage in 2013. He recently released his second book, The Bourbon Tasting Notebook, co-authored with a respected colleague.
Early in his career, Veach was the North American Archivist for United Distillers for over seven years. He then spent 17 years within The Filson Historical Society as an archivist and historian. Today Mr. Veach provides independent industry consulting, education, and other services. In 2006, he was inducted into The Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame in recognition of his knowledge, activities, and accomplishments surrounding bourbon.
Veach holds a BA and MA in History from the University of Louisville. He travels across the country researching, lecturing, and hosting special seminars designed to spread the knowledge of Kentucky Whiskey products and enhance the appreciation of Bourbon. Mr. Veach resides in his hometown of Louisville, KY in the heart of Bourbon Country.
